This site is in many ways a memorial to our Grandmother, Maria Pereira. It is also in part a history of our family: Grandma's German cuisine, Meemah's New England homecooking, Aunt Norma's study of elegant cookery, Mother's experimentation with more exotic fare, and probably inevitably, the current generation's search for less calorie-laden (but still great) food.
Many of these recipes would not exist today if Norma and others hadn't systematically worked to record them. BIG thanks to everyone who sent in their recipes.
