Harry Webster Waite
Member of One of East Site Oldest Families
Harry Webster Waite, a member of one of the oldest East Side families died
at his home 549 Washington Brookline, this morning after an illness of about
a month from a nervous breakdown, aged 67. He was the son of James Monroe and
Salome Webster Waite and was head of the iron and metal firm of Waite, Ranlett
Co, corner of [illegible] and Broad Sts. Boston.
The deceased was born in Stockton, Calif., and came to Maplewood at the age
of two. He was educated at the Maplewood school and Malden High. At the time
of his marriage 35 years ago, he moved to Brookline, which had since been his
home. He was a member of the De Molay commandery Templars and St. Paul's chapter
of his home city; also the Boston art [illegible].
He is survived by his wife, a son Allen [sic] G. and a daughter Constance
W.; also a brother Edw M. who lives in the old homestead on Webster St. Webster
Park was named after their father who was the eighth generation of the Waites
in this country.
